A Prince Edward County wedding has been on my radar ever since I moved to Port Hope. My wife and I had spent some time touring ‘The County’ when we lived in Toronto and I  have many fond memories of Prince Edward County. I was very pleased to book my first wedding there and cover the first wedding at the new venue Compass Rose in Prince Edward County.

The lucky couple travelled from Ottawa to be married in the secret forest at Compass Rose, not the official name, but I like the sound of it.  It was definitely more of an elopement than a typical wedding. Surrounded by a small group of close family and friends the couple said their vows under a sprawling canopy of trees. After the ceremony champagne was served in the unique green house.

The beautiful thing about a Prince Edward County wedding is the opportunity to take photos at nearby Lake Ontario. Rather than dealing with the crowds at Sandbanks we opted for the more rugged Point Petre Conservation Area and after a little exploring we found the perfect spot for couple portraits.
